The Chilean search and rescue plane deployed to assist VM Matériaux, following Jean Le Cam’s distress call at 0140 (GMT), this morning flew over the area at 0945 and has confirmed sight of the IMOCA 60.
Those called to assist Jean Le Cam (VM Matériaux) are rushing to the location as quickly as possible, whilst the leaders who have rounded Cape Horn are now racing north.
Following Jean Le Cam's (VM Matériaux) distress call to his shore team this morning at 00h26 GMT the Chilean and French MRCC have been setting up a rescue operation using the resources available in the area.
