After a successful Round Spain Race and two weeks of PR operations in the Mediterranean for the boat’s owner, Vincent Riou’s new PRB is on her way to Brittany, and she is due to reach Port la Forêt on 23rd July. After that she will be going through measurement procedures that are required before going into the yard to get ready for the Route du Rhum.

PRB will be relaunched in early September, in order to be prepared for the qualifier for the Route du Rhum and training sessions at the French Ocean Racing Training Centre in Finistère. Vincent, who is not sailing aboard for this delivery trip, is currently in Brittany on a well-deserved holiday until mid-August. He has openly said that he is satisfied with the first sixty days of sailing on board the new PRB. Vincent Riou: “With the delivery trips, races and PR operations, we were really able to test the boat. PRB has already completed sixty days of sailing since her launch. We were able to push her hard particularly in the Round Spain Race. In general, she really lives up to my expectations. She sails well with a crew and will be even better when sailed solo, as her cockpit was designed with this in mind. To be frank, there’s not much left to do. The set of sails is what we were looking for and we’ll just make one more headsail for the Route du Rhum.”
