Vendée Globe

Being a hero is not something reserved for someone in a frogman´s suit, who turns up to free hostages or offer his girlfriend a box of chocolates. The 120 pilots aboard the sixty RIBs chartered by the organisers from the Zodiac company offer the proof.

With sixty semi-rigid boats capable of sketching a Z for Zorro in the water off Les Sables d´Olonne, this is the evidence that their pilots know what they are doing. In the partnership agreement signed between the Vendée Globe organisation and the Zodiac firm, the 120 pilots making up the safety fleet have all been through the French lifeboat service training centres. To keep it short, this is a way of saluting their skills.
