Every evening at 7.15, 7.45, 8.15 and 8.45, a huge light show takes place in the marina and alongside the boats taking part in the Vendée Globe in front of thousands of visitors. Designed by Bruno Seillier and set up by the Spectaculaire Company, this impressive show projected on the Alliaura Marine buildings uses powerful video and laser displays, which create an amazing atmosphere in Port Olona.
A legendary race is about to get underway. A race that goes by the name of the Everest of the seas, the mere mention of which evokes dreams, myths and legends. The marine and air elements carried by Atlas separate out. To face these elements, which can be wild, the skippers leave behind the frontiers of ordinary life and go beyond the columns of Hercules into the limits of the known world. The harbour in Les Sables becomes the waiting room before they head off beyond the horizon and a column of light of a rare intensity transforms the port into a cathedral of light. In order to be able to be in with a chance in this race, the candidates first must prepare. The countdown begins and lasts for four years. They pass through the dangers of the southern seas and then there are those unique moments, when man is at harmony with his boat and nature. It is at that moment that the whole port is flooded with light forming waves, which break over and surround the spectator creating a fascinating ballet. To finish, we discover the thirty competitors, these thirty entrants aspiring for a place in the legend. There can only be one winner, but in their own way, they are all winners, fully deserving respect. A must-see event.
