Vendée Globe

Without their shore teams, who were involved in the choices made with the design teams, defining the deck layout, choosing the equipment taken on board, or sailing at their side… the skippers would find themselves very much alone and the monohulls would certainly not be as well prepared as they are today down on the Vendée Globe pontoons in Port Olona.

Project manager, boat-captain, in charge of deck fittings, mechanics, rigging, sails, computer systems, composites, logistics… the teams working on the IMOCA monohulls usually include between three and seven people with additional temporary help from expert contractors. Here are the shore teams working on some of the thirty boats in Les Sables d’Olonne.
