A great New Year’s present for Dee Caffari!
15-25 knots southerlies and brilliant sunshine off Wellington (New Zealand) - ideal conditions to carry out the first sea trials on the new 60-foot Open Aviva, aboard which the British yachtswoman Dee Caffari will be setting sail in the next Vendée Globe.
"It will be the biggest challenge of my career," she stated. Hardly had she had time to recover from the Transat B to B, and Dee Caffari was flying off to New Zealand to take a look at her new Aviva, which was being completed in Wellington. A great New Year’s present for Dee, who was able to take her out to sea for the first time. We shall be seeing them both in Les Sables d´Olonne in early November...
