Mainsail halyard problem on Fondation Ocean Vital
Raphaël Dinelli discovered this afternoon at around 17h that the cover of his mainsail halyard had separated from the halyard stopping him from hoisting or lowering the mainsail. He currently has two reefs in the mainsail. He is therefore heading for the island of Trindade, which is some 130 miles away from his position at 17h, in order to shelter and carry out repairs safely. He is due to reach the island tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, he remains in the race.
