On the day after the arrival of the final competitor in the 2008-2009 Vendée Globe, we would like to offer you our thanks.

The sixth Vendée Globe is not yet completely over: there will be a prize ceremony to which you are all invited on the beach in Les Sables d'Olonne on 23rd May.
Before that we would like to take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely for the interest you have continued to show in this sixth edition of the race. Millions of you visited the website several times a day to look at the 5500 articles, or to watch the 900 videos, or view the 10,000 photos and listen to the 1350 recordings made available by the production team. The team endeavoured and we hope succeeded in allowing you to share their passion for this exceptional race. Your messages of encouragement, your constructive criticisms, your attention to detail and willingness to let us know of any minor errors in our articles were all gratefully received. We can assure you too that the thirty skippers, who took part in this Vendée Globe were extremely aware of your presence in front of the screen.
So thank you all once again. We hope to see you soon! The official Vendée Globe website will remain open!
