After a few months of work in Gosport (GB), the Open 60 Hugo Boss was put back in the water last week. Structural repairs were completed and the hull repainted. This week Alex Thomson's shore team will be preparing the boat for her first sail since the Vendée Globe, as Hugo Boss will be heading off to the Mediterranean , where Alex will be attending the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.

Over the next few weeks, sea trials are planned to fine tune the rig with the presence on board of sailmakers and rigging specialists. In the second week of May, Alex and his team will be setting off on a delivery trip to the Mediterranean, where they will attend the F1 Grand Prix to support the McLaren team. Alex and his boat captain Ross Daniels will be making the most of this delivery trip to get in some training for the Transat Jacques Vabre, which takes place in November. Meanwhile both sailors are spending a lot of time getting in shape in the gym and playing squash.
