Sir Robin Knox-Johnston will be taking part in the Artemis Challenge on 5th August during Cowes Week. This race around the Isle of Wight for Open 60s is organised to raise money for a charity, but this year is also seen as the perfect way to prepare for the Fastnet Race. Eight IMOCA 60s will be lining up for the start

At the age of seventy, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has just celebrated the fortieth anniversary of his legendary solo round the world voyage (the Golden Globe race back in 1969). He will be accompanied aboard his Grey Power, now classified as an Eco 60 for the forthcoming Velux 5 Oceans, by the young English sailor, Hannah Jenner. Sir Robin is taking part on behalf of an organisation, which aims to encourage disabled youngsters to lead an active life, while at the same time allowing the restoration of old boats.

The winner of the Artemis Challenge will be awarded 10,000 pounds, which will then be passed on to the charity of his choice. The skippers wil be accompanied by stars from the world of sport and entertainment.
