Getting to know contributors

Articles |

Votre Nom Autour Du Monde avec EDM Projets has brought together companies and individuals who invested a few dozens or thousands of euros to support one man’s sports project. Some of these contributors came to support Betrand de Broc on Thursday during a presse event organised 30 days before the start of the race. We met with Barbara, Hervé, Isabelle, Léonard and Ambroise, contributors who told us more about their motivations.

"It’s mostly geographical proximity that made us discover this project because we live in Sainte Marine, just like Bertrand. And our love for Brittany and sailing as well, of course. It is the kind of adventure we also experience in our professional lives as consultants and to us, this is a way of communicating on issues such as strong will, sustainable development and natural elements like wind and sea. This adventure really matters to the young people we work with.

We will first follow the race through Bertrand’s journal we will receive by mail. We will then share this beautiful adventure with our teams and our clients, hoping we’ll get to follow Bertrand all the way to the finish line. Of course, there is also the race’s official website and other information sources, which will allow us to stay in touch with his race in a more global way.

We have already started to let our clients know of our involvement in this great human adventure.

We have invested in this beutiful project in the name of our company, A2 Consulting. We will communicate on it both internally and with our clients.

"I think this VADM project is a nice way to travel, offering contributors a different way of experiencing the Vendée Globe. And since this is Bertrand’s thirs participation, we wanted to give his the opportunity to go for it one more time.

My 4-year-old son is super proud of having his name on the hull. We’re going to try to organize something with his class, maybe a poster showing his position and route so children can follow his race, even though they’re very young. They can also learn about geography, the names of the seas he will be sailing in and, hopefully, become aware of how amazing our planet is and how careful we must be in how we treat her in the process.

We sincerely hope Bertrand will be able to finish his great adventure. Needless to say, we’ll attend the start in les Sables d’Olonne to support him and cheer for him. He really deserves it. »

Ambroise, corporate sponsor (Apsia)

"We found out about the « Votre Nom autour du Monde » project 8 years ago but we’ve only decided to move on to the next step now.

We hope the media exposure provided by the Vendée Globe will have consequences on our partnership with Bertrand. This makes it possible for us to be among the big players in our business. The values showcased in the world of sailing are very close to our own, that is another reason why we decided to get involved in this circumnavigation. We’re even going to participate in Virtual Regatta, trying to sail around the world just like the actual skippers. I’m a yachtsman myself, I’m from Les Sables d’Olonne and a few years ago, i had the priviledge of sailing with Dominique Wavre and Alex Thomson. The initial idea was mine but I’ve been lucky enough to have a management that followed me on that project.”
