Groupe Bel:

What is Kito de Pavant doing this week?

Kito and Groupe Bel made it to Les Sables d’Olonne after an 8-day transfer from Port Camargue. After talks with his team and some technical checks on the yacht, Kito is going back home in Montpellier for a few days of rest. He will be back in les Sables in the end of the week where he will attend the Village opening ceremony, the first race briefing sessions, media appointments and meetings with his partner, Goupe Bel.

 

Banque Populaire:

What is Armel le Cléac’h doing this week?

On Monday, Armel will meet with children from a Saint Pol de Léon school. Three classes will come to Lorient, visit the yacht and talk to Armel and the Banque Populaire team. Tuesday will be all about the last settings and adjustments with the Team before leaving for Les Sables d'Olonne.

The boat transfer between Lorient and Les Sables d'Olonne is scheduled for Wednesday, unless the weather makes it impossible. On in les Sables, the media marathon will start!

 

SynerCiel:

What is Jean Le Cam doing this week?

This is SynerCiel’s last week in Lorient. The main objective is to put the finishing touch to the yacht’s decoration, shoot some videos and take SynerCiel to Les Sables d'Olonne.

 

PRB:

What is Vincent Riou doing this week?

The boat will be taken to Les Sables d’Olonne at the beginning of the week. She will be there by October 16.

PR events on October 17 and 18 with Mercedes, the yacht’s co-partner.  

Vincent will then stay in les Sables for the official opening and various briefing sessions.

 

Safran:

What is Marc Guillemot doing this week?

Last week before the boat gets to Les Sables d'Olonne.

On Tuesday, Marc will attend Safran’s press conference on the « Students’ virtual Vendée Globe », which is between a « Serious Game » and a virtual regatta. It will allow students to:

• virtually find themselves at the helm of a Safran yacht through the Virtual Regatta tried and tested technical solution.

• participate in a series of challenges designed to develop their knowledge of our group and its specialities. Throughout the race, students can earn points that will give them access to Virtual Regatta bonuses – allowing them to optimise their boats and their sailing conditions – or Safran goodies.

Marc and his yacht will eventually sail to Les Sables d'Olonne, where they should arrive by the end of the week.

 

AKENA Vérandas:

What is Arnaud Boissières doing this week?

Monday: Shooting with France 3.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: Navigations.

Friday: Media appointments.

Where is the boat?

She is moored at Port Olona, in Les Sables d’Olonne.

 

Mirabaud:

What is Dominique Wavre doing this week?

Dominique’s week will be all about the very last part of the Vendée Globe preparation. He has scheduled navigations on Tuesday to validate the changes on his new mainsail. The yacht will then be taken on dry dock for some work until the end of the week. The transfer to Les Sables d’Olonne is scheduled for Friday and in the meantime, everything has to be ready: Technical container, loading of the yacht and preparation for the transfer.

Where is the boat?

Mirabaud is currently in La Rochelle and will be in les Sables d’Olonne on Friday night.

 

Team Plastique:

What is Alessandro Di Benedetto doing this week?

Alberto Monaco, an Italian friend of Alessadro’s, is joining the team for the last part of the preparation before the start.

Alessandro is visiting Germay Plast'IC and l'Océane des Plastics, two of the boat’s sponsor, and meeting with their employees in the middle of the week. He will talk about his preparation and the employees will tell him more about their skills.

Where is the boat?

She is in Les Sables and the to-do list includes: Weatherproofing the roof portholes, installing the on-board-camera and the wiring, finishing the engine preparation and control the winch transmission.

 

ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered:

What is Javier Sanso doing this week?
The media appointments are over and ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered left brest on Monday to sail to Les Sables d’Olonne for the Vendée Globe start.

 

Initiatives-coeur:

What is Tanguy de Lamotte doing this week?

Tanguy is taking Initiatives-coeur to Les Sables d'Olonne at the beginning of the week.

Throughout the rest of the week, he will settle in and attend briefing sessions with the other skippers.

Where is the boat?

Initiatives-coeur will sail to Les Sables d'Olonne for the home stretch before the start.

 

Maître CoQ:

What is Jérémie Beyou doing this week?

Monday-Tuesday: Media and partners appointments while the Maître CoQ Team is preparing the yacht and taking the technical equipment to Les Sables.
Wednesday-Thursday: Transfer to Les Sables d’Olonne.
Friday-Sunday: Official briefing sessions and technical checks in Les Sables d’Olonne.

Where is the boat?  
The  Maître CoQ monohull will be in Lorient and, starting on October 18, in Les Sables d’Olonne.

 

Energa:

What is Zbigniew Gutkowski doing his week?
The yacht and the technical team are still in Gosport. Energa was painted, branded, prepared and she finally touched the water. She was then taken up again for the final work before being taken back in the water on Tuesday.

All the rigging elements were replaced, the communication systems installed and everything was checked. Rigging tension will be set-up in slow steps – More tension will be applied every couple of hours until the optimum value is reached.

On Monday, hydrogenerators, solar panels and wind turbine will be installed, as well as new ropes for running rigging.

« Gutek » is scheduled to leave Gosport on Tuesday and should make it to Les Sables on October 19. The only issue is weather, as the forecast says 35 knots and more, on the nose, from the very beginning to the end of this relatively short trip.

 

 

Bureau Vallée:

What is Louis Burton doing this week?

Monday: Last details will be worked on before the yacht is taken to Les Sables d’Olonne on Tuesday, scheduled to arrive there on Thursday evening or Friday morning, depending on the weather. Louis will be in Les Sables from Friday to Sunday…
