Congratulations, Alex, on your Vendée Globe podium finish! You and I both had a great fight, another one after the 2007 Barcelona World Race and the 2011 Transat Jacques Vabre. Kudos to you. And once again, thanks for staying by my side all the way to the Azores. You're a great sailor!

Well done, Jean-Pierre. Very generous of you. I see you've almost negotiated Cape Finisterre. Hopefully you can nurse Verbac Paprec 3 back to Les Sables d'Olonne and maybe even get there before Jean arrives. Safe sailing.

JP. I am an old friend of Alex and so am very pleased to see him come home in 3rd place, but sorry you had problems take it away from you. You have captivated me by sailing at amazing pace all round the world and such a distance with no keel, you are really amazing and an inspiration to all in never giving up. Race Committee should be ashamed as how they dropped any news of Bernard Stamm (Chaminees Poujoulat") Yes, he was disqualified....but he still deserves to be positioned as he continues along in the fleet. Sure...hang a "DISQUALIFIED" note on his postion report. But you have dropped him like death. He deserves more than that!
