Kito de Pavant's monohull arrived in the Forêt-Fouesnant (Finistère) port on Tuesday, February 19, coming from Cascais, Portugal, where she had been moored since hitting a fishing boat in November. The mast and keel will be taken to Brittany by truck while two crew members, Hervé Giorsetti et Sylvain Raimbault, sailed the engine-driven hull home.
Groupe Bel was taken out of the water the next day and is now under renovation in the CDK shipyard, where experts have been manufacturing spare parts for weeks so a 2-metre piece of deck and hull can eventually be added to the monohull.
The boat should be back at sea in the end of April, first in the Atlantic Ocean and then in the Mediterranean before competing in the Normandy Sailing Week in Deauville in June, the Med Race and the Générali Solo in September.
As for Kito de Pavant, he has already launched a new « Made in Midi » project, which he presented to potential new partners in Montpellier on February 21.
