Arnaud Boissières will be part of a real-life telemedicine experimentation. Vendée-based company Rioli Telesanté Consult has actually decided to partner the Akena Vérandas skipper, who will be competing in his second Vendée Globe. The goal of the partnership is to experiment on telemedcine throughout the round-the-world race, especially in the difficult conditions faced in the Southern Seas. This new type of officially recognised medical method makes it possible to simultaneously access personal medical data on different sites and still guarantee coordinated and seamless care. Arnaud will participate in the practical part of the experimentation through medical communications when facing extreme technical constraints, including heart monitoring, tele-expertise, remote medical data analysis and medical diagnosis. That will be a world's first paving the way for tomorrow's medicine...
