As Brit Air completes the crossing of the Bay of Biscay in strong northerly winds and heavy seas, Roxy and Safran are on either side of the Azores high. Roxy is taking the shortest route, but is to the south of the high, while Safran is taking a longer route but has made it to the northern edge. They are both trying to reach the disturbed SW’ly flow which should take them to the Bay of Biscay. Pindar and Aviva will be crossing this zone next later this weekend and early next week followed by Akena a few days later.

In the South Atlantic, Toe in the Water is preparing to tackle the Doldrums, while Great American III is struggling in the thundery area off Brazil. Off the Falklands, Fondation Ocean Vital is dealing with a deep low, which came from Argentina with gusts between 45 and 55 knots forecast. This system will reach Nauticsport Kapsch this weekend once Norbert Sedlacek is past the Falklands.
