“As a native from the Vendée region, the Vendée Globe is an event not to be missed for me and my family.

It is in our habits to attend the race start and some of the arrivals amongst the public on the harbour’s quays.

For every single edition, the spectacle is gripping. It gets very emotional to be there amongst the crowd, in the noise and the cheering and to witness these men and women depart. We identify with them and we try to imagine their emotions and what goes on in their minds. The parade of the boats with the families, sponsors and technical teams on board remind us that we are part of a big and beautiful human adventure.

Last Sunday, I was lucky enough to live the experience from a very different perspective. I was able to get on board the passenger boat chartered by Sodedo. It was a whole different experience, the speed, the technical challenge and the technological differences between the boats. I basically experienced the competition and the dimension of high-level professional sports. You can imagine their environment for the next 3 months: the cold, the noise, the 6-meter waves or more that they will face… It’s incredibly impressive! “
