In June 2014, Éoliennes en Mer Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier won the state call for tenders regarding the development of a wind farm off the coasts of Île d’Yeu and Noirmoutier. In October 2018, Éoliennes en Mer Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier obtained administrative authorisations to build the offshore wind farm Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier.
This is a major energy project for Vendée region: 62 offwhore wind turbines with a total capacity of 496 MW will be installed off the coasts of îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier. Start of construction phase is planned for 2023 provided that all authorisations obtained are free of all possible claims. In a time when fighting global warming has become a collective issue, our project is a practical commitment to complete energy transition in France and to protect our planet at our own scale.
Éoliennes en Mer Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier shareholding is composed of ENGIE (31 %), EDP Renewables (29,5 %), Sumitomo Corporation (29,5%) and Banque des Territoires (10 %).
