Justine Mettraux, a new IMOCA for 2028

On Monday, the TeamWork - Team Snef project of skipper Justine Mettraux, 8th in the Vendée Globe 2024 and holder of the women's record of 76 days 01 hours and 36 minutes, announced the construction of a new IMOCA for the next edition of the Vendée Globe in 2028.

Construction of this generation 2028 IMOCA - a Guillaume Verdier design - will be launched in April 2026. For the 2025 season, the Swiss sailor will continue to sail on her current boat, including the Transat Café l'Or with Xavier Macaire. She will be taking part in The Ocean Race Europe aboard Team Malizia alongside Boris Herrmann and his crew.

Building an IMOCA is a huge challenge — one that doesn’t come around ten times in a lifetime. Taking on a new Vendée Globe with greater sporting ambitions, alongside partners with whom there is mutual trust, is a real privilege. I know how lucky I am.
