Armel Tripon has launched her new IMOCA Les P’tits Doudous

This IMOCA is outstanding! Its colorful decoration is the work of graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. The original design draws attention to this project, which is a standard-bearer for the commitment of caregivers. But that's not all: this IMOCA is built from reused carbon and titanium recovered from operating theatres.

For almost two years, the Les P'tits Doudous team has been working tirelessly to build a more environmentally-friendly monohull. Reused carbon from Airbus, titanium screws collected by caregivers... A collective adventure described by skipper Armel Tripon, 11th in the 2020 Vendée Globe:

I've learned a lot about myself, about human and technical management. I take it as good training for what's going to happen on the water. Even though I didn't sail for two years, I continued to be rigorous in my physical and mental preparation.

The IMOCA - a VPLP design - is flying the flag for Les P'tits Doudous, a caregivers' association that improves the experience, reassures and reduces the anxiety of children (and their parents) before, during and after their stay in the operating room.

The skipper from Nantes will compete in the Rolex Fastnet in July, his first race aboard this new-generation IMOCA.
