Profile

When he competed in the Solitaire du Figaro last May, the Vendée Globe was already very much on his mind. Loïs Berrehar is working towards this goal with patience, discipline and determination. A member of Team Banque Populaire since 2024, he was born in Tours but grew up by the sea in Quiberon Bay. From a very early age, he developed a passion for racing, first in inshore competitions and then offshore. After crossing the Atlantic with his family at the age of ten, he gained a wealth of experience sailing on a variety of boat types. Over the years, Loïs has gained solid experience in Ocean Fifty, Class40, VOR70, IMOCA and Ultim boats. But it was in the Figaro class that he forged much of his career as a sailor. He has competed in seven editions of the Solitaire du Figaro, securing two consecutive podium finishes with a third place in 2023 followed by a second place in 2024. He also won the Transat Paprec in 2023 and the Solo Guy Cotten in 2024. Today, Loïs is continuing to develop his career in the IMOCA class with the ambition of establishing himself in this fleet for the long term. Following several experiences with Team Malizia, he will take the helm of his new IMOCA, Banque Populaire 14, in early 2027.
