Profile
With a background in naval architecture, Yoann Richomme has won prestigious victories in both solo and crewed races across various offshore racing circuits. A two-time winner of the Solitaire du Figaro in 2016 and 2019, and a two-time winner of the Route du Rhum in the Class40 category in 2018 and 2022, he is renowned for his meticulous preparation and his endurance.
In 2023, he made a remarkable entry into the IMOCA circuit by winning his first solo transatlantic race in a 60-foot yacht, the Retour à la Base. In 2024, he doubled his success by winning the legendary Transat CIC (formerly the Transat Anglaise), before finishing in a very creditable 2nd place in the 2024–2025 Vendée Globe. In 2026, a new cycle begins with a clear objective: to aim for victory in the 2028 Vendée Globe.
A challenge shared with Paprec, a loyal and indispensable supporter of offshore racing, which will stand by Yoann for the next four years. Together, they have already launched the construction of a new IMOCA, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2027, with a view to competing in all races of the IMOCA Globe Series championship.
