Swiss sailor Justine Mettraux, who finished eighth and was the first woman to cross the finish line in the 2024 Vendée Globe, had an exceptional race, beating the previous women's record set by Clarisse Crémer in the 2020 edition. Her consistency and tenacity impressed throughout the race. Justine is currently battling it out at the front of the fleet with Xavier Macaire – strategy consultant on the previous Vendée Globe – in the Transat Café de l'Or.
Charlie Dalin was rewarded for his resounding victory in this tenth Vendée Globe. The French skipper beat Armel Le Cléac'h's record, set in 2016, by nine days, after a perfectly controlled race.
These awards recognise the excellence and high standards of these two skippers, who have made their mark on the most iconic stage of ocean racing.
