This partnership is built on a shared vision: an extraordinary adventure that is both sporting and human. In the Vendée Globe, the start is a collective, symbolic and universal moment. Every sail-off is a moment of suspended time, when the whole world holds its breath alongside the skippers embarking on their solo, non-stop, unassisted around-the-world race. Sodebo supports this spirit and helps amplify this collective emotion, promoting the values of freedom and pushing one’s limits.
This partnership also draws its strength from a shared regional identity. Founded in Vendée, Sodebo shares with the Vendée Globe a strong attachment to the region and a desire to contribute to its vitality. For over 50 years, the company has grown whilst remaining true to its DNA and its roots: Sodebo develops and manufactures all its products at its site in Montaigu-Vendée, which today employs 3,300 people.
In addition to this major partnership, Sodebo is also involved as the owner of two multihulls: an Ultim (a 32-metre trimaran), holder of the Jules Verne Trophy – the record for the fastest crewed circumnavigation of the globe – and an Ocean Fifty (a 15-metre trimaran). Through its Global Sailing project, Sodebo shares the thrill of the open sea with as many people as possible and spreads an inspiring collective spirit.
By renewing its partnership until 2028, Sodebo reaffirms its commitment to the Vendée Globe and its values, whilst pursuing, alongside the event, a shared ambition: to inspire, to dream and to engage the public ever more widely in the great adventures of the open sea.
