One team, two boats, two skippers, one collective

TR Racing is not an ocean racing team like the others. Based in Lorient and founded by Thomas Ruyant and Alexandre Fayeulle - founder of Advens - this structure is dedicated to the design, preparation and management of sailing boats and offshore racing programmes. Backed by Advens, a leader in cybersecurity in France, and Leyton, an international consultancy firm, it currently supports the sporting projects of Thomas Ruyant (For People) and Sam Goodchild (For the Planet). But more than that, the ocean racing team aims to use the power of top-level sport to accelerate concrete, high-potential social and environmental programmes.

A collective: We Sail For People and Planet

Under the banner We Sail For People and Planet, the collective, which brings together the two IMOCA projects, is acting and committing to global action in favour of people and the planet, two inseparable causes. The Entourage association, which Thomas Ruyant has supported since his last Vendée Globe campaign, is at the heart of the action in favour of people. The environmental actions will be supported by the Team for the Planet citizen fund.

Thomas Ruyant (For People)

In mid-March, the latest generation foiler For People, a Koch - Finot Conq design, was launched. A few weeks later, he made a remarkable entry on the circuit, winning the Guyader Bermudes 1000 Race alongside Morgan Lagravière, his very first confrontation!

Sam Goodchild (For the Planet)

One month after the launch of For People, Sam Goodchild officially becomes the skipper of For the Planet, Thomas' former IMOCA LinkedOut, on which he finished 6th in the last Vendée Globe. The British skipper's beginnings have been just as convincing: in his first race at the helm of For the Planet, the Bermudes 1000 Race, he finished on the third step of the podium, in a duo with Antoine Koch.

It's a very promising start for the TR Racing team... Looking forward to 2024!
