Profile
Swiss sailor Justine Mettraux took her first steps on Lake Geneva, aboard the family boat, and later at the Geneva Regatta Training Centre. She quickly developed a passion for regattas and offshore racing. In 2013, in her first major ocean race, she finished the Mini Transat in second place under the TeamWork banner.
Justine Mettraux has continued to progress at the highest level ever since, gaining experience in major ocean races. Consistent, committed and renowned for her resilience at sea, she has established herself as a leading figure in international offshore racing.
In 2025, she made history by finishing her first Vendée Globe in 8th place, as the first woman and first international skipper in the race, setting a new women’s record at the same time.
Still supported by TeamWork, her long-standing partner, Justine Mettraux can now count on the backing of the Snef Group, which became a co-partner in 2024. Together, TeamWork and the Snef Group are launching an ambitious new campaign towards the 2028 Vendée Globe with the construction of a new IMOCA, due to be launched in spring 2027.
