The sailor has announced his intention to compete in the 2028 Vendée Globe, aiming to become the second Japanese skipper in history to take part in the race. The programme was launched thanks to an initial group of sponsors, with a boat and technical team already in place, though the budget still needs to be secured. The next sporting target is the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe 2026, a qualifying race for the next Vendée Globe.

Japanese skipper Masa Suzuki announced this Monday that he has acquired the 2006 daggerboard IMOCA on which Louis Duc competed in the 2024 Vendée Globe, finishing in 26th place.
