MY COURSE SO FAR
Studies and professional career off the sail: I have an engineering degree from Cambridge University. I then did an internship with a naval architect and I worked for several years, in the sailing world most especially for Harken the brand of winches and blocks.
My first sailing: on my parents' boat at the age of two weeks, I can’t remember.
When and how did you want to race offshore and make it your life project: Watching the starts and finishes of the Whitbread Round the World Race, I was lucky enough to be on the water to watch from my parents' boat in among those huge spectator fleets. That really was the race that made me dream. I wanted to work in the naval architecture area, to be a design engineer. The career of pro offshore racer did not really exist at that time. I have always promised myself that if there is one day that I get up and I don't want to go sailing and I am complaining, grumbling and that I am doing it just to make money, I'll stop and do something else. I love sailing so much, I really want it to be always a pleasure.
