Yesterday evening while she was sailing in 15th position off Brazil in the SE’ly trade winds Isabelle Joschke lost the aft pushpit of her IMOCA MACSF when the gennaker sheet block broke and the sheet pulled away part of the pushpit and some lifelines.

She was not injured and made a makeshift repair overnight to secure the boat. She and her technical team are talking about how to make a more long term repair over the coming days when the conditions are more favourable.

The aft pushpit is a fundamental safety element at the back of her boat, but so far her makeshift repair is not affecting the performance of her IMOCA MACSF in any way.
