Boris Herrmann, skipper of Seaexplorer-Yacht Club de Monaco, is back in the heat of the podium battle. He is looking forwards to one of the most exciting weeks in the history of the Vendee Globe...

He tells us this evening......“All is good on board, conditions get more and more handy as we get close to the high pressure which is nice, but with the upwind bouncing it was pretty rough, sometimes going straight into the waves in 20kts it was pretty horrible. Now I am back to full main and J2. I am still kind of upwind-ish and so I can’t put up a Code Zero

I am a bit slow, 14.5kts and so I had been hoping I would be quicker through this. I will see if I can do anything about it. I feel great for the morale to be second on the tracker at the moment but even if it does not say so much. It is going to be the most incredible week of the Vendée Globe of any Vendée Globe finish. All six or seven boats can be close together and Jean Le Cam as well. The time bonuses will come into play. That could be both a positive and a negative way. I don’t have any clear booking on the podium, that is of course my dream and my goal, but it will all be very tight. There is a lot to play for. It will be a tough week but I am really looking forwards to it.
