Thomas Ruyant and Morgan Lagravière, winners of the Transat Jacques Vabre

The suspense lasted right to the end! After a postponed start, a modified course... The Vendée Globe skippers and their co-skippers taking part in the Transat Jacques Vabre - a multi-class race enrolled in the IMOCA championship - quickly had to choose their camp: take a northerly route or a southerly route to reach Martinique.

For a long time, the forecasts predicted that the 'northerners' led by Justine Mettraux and Julien Villion would win. In the end, it was the southerly route that proved the winning one for the second consecutive edition: Thomas Ruyant and Morgan Lagravière aboard For People.

Thomas Ruyant: « It wasn't easy to win it once, and it wasn't easy to win it a second time! Momo and I wanted to enjoy ourselves, to do the whole thing the way we like to do it and the way we know how. The level of racing in the IMOCA class is just crazy! I've got a good boat for the round the world, a great team and a great project. The aim is clearly to do well in the next Vendée Globe. »
