French adventurer-navigator Guirec Soudée made a name for himself sailing round the world on a robust 11.80m steel monohull, dating from 1983 which was renamed Yvinec, the name of the Breton island. where he grew up. He also rowed across the Atlantic, east to west on an 8-meter boat purpose designed. Soudée says that he has already spent 670 days at sea alone, or almost, since he has usually taken his ever faithful red hen Monique with him. 

President of the jury of the Marin of the Year 2021 of the FFVoile, Soudée has bought OMIA-Water Family from Benjamin Dutreux and he now hopes to be able to enter the Route du Rhum and fulfil all  qualification stages for the Vendée Globe 2024.
